A beautiful expanse of golden beach with good surf, ideal for all abilities. The tidal River Gannel is situated along the northern end of the beach and is a popular and ideal spot for families with sheltered bathing. Drive from the apartment: approx. 15 mins via Crantock Village Walking from the apartment (only at low tide): approx. 10 mins (stepped access can be found next to the Hotel California on Pentire Crescent) Facilities: National Trust car park, Fern Pit Café situated on the Newquay side of the Gannel reached via a foot bridge that operates during the summer months. Public Toilets. Lifeguard: 10am-6pm mid May–end Sept. Dogs allowed.

Newquay’s iconic beach, quite simply one of the best surfing beaches in the UK and Europe, its wild waters perfect for a variety of water-based sports. Home to the Ripcurl Boardmasters, Europe’s largest surf, skate and music festival. Drive from the apartment: approx. 2 mins Walk from the apartment: approx. 5 mins to Esplanade Road (stepped access down to the beach or take the coastal path at the back of the beach giving a more gentle approach) Facilities: Car park on site via Headland Rd, Bar, Bistro, Café & toilets.
